Sustenance and Food Services (NFS) creates and delivers far-reaching, evidence-based nutrition services for our veterans and their families across VHA medical care practices. NFS mediates protected and excellent food delivery to patients. NFS Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) serve as nutrition diagnosticians and clinical nutritionists for veterans and their families through the nutrition care interaction and mentor future RDNs through the VA Dietetic Internship programs. RDNs support the anticipation of wellness and illness by ensuring compelling supportive education and counseling. The Nutrition Group proactively adds to many VA drives including TeleNutrition, Patient-Aligned Care Team (PACT), Cultural Transformation, Nutrition Examination, and Virtual Entertainment Exchange. NFS is changing the VA in its high-level nutrition clinical trials, information-based quality improvement, and audio demonstration kitchen projects to further develop well-being outcomes for veterans and their relatives.
